I have a RTP-300 and my caller ID has been suffering from intermittant issues. I have seen that the caller id function has been not been working as much. I would have to say that 80% of the time the caller id does not work. I mean it does not show on the phone. But when I log into my account I see the caller id info. I even have been using brand new phones. The only thing I could think of is the RTP-300. I have had it in use since Oct 2005.
Can anybody give me some information that will help correct this issue. |

The RTP300s had a lot of trouble with CID before firmware upgrades finally fixed it. Yours should be updated automatically, but maybe something has gone wrong there. What firmware is it running? It should be indicated in the upper right corner of the opening admin page. |

When was the last time you power cycled the 300? If it's been a while, try it. When the 300's have CID problems, reboots usually fix it, at least temporarily. If the issue resurfaces, call CS. |

When you say "phones" ... are you using home wiring by any chance? If so, can you plug one or two phones directly into the RTP300 (stop using your home wiring for a while) and see if that improves your caller ID reliability? |

I plug dirrecty into my rtp300 and don't use any of the home wiring. As for rebooting the rtp. I do a two minute shut down once a week. |

Well I asked the question and got the answer- and realize that I don't know what the latest firmware version is. Been too long since the CID issue was discussed. Does anyone know? If I recall, the problem was fixed in about version 1.00.55. I hope they haven't brought it back in an "improved" version.
Pman- I would definitely call customer service on this one, since home wiring isn't the issue. Even if the firmware version is the latest, there are adjustments that they can make. We went through a lot of that back when this problem was rampant.
You might want to look at this thread, and earlier ones as well:
