I received my Linksys RT31P2 a couple of weeks ago and have been happy with the router and phone quality. My only complaint is that on occasion my internet access is disabled and I have to reboot the router. I was wondering what the latest firmware version is for the RT31P2 - I have version 1.20.01. Is there a newer version that perhaps fixes my problem? The linksys website has NO firmware availble for download and the linsys manual states that Vonage techs must do the upgrade. Has anyone done this?

I have the same firmware version. I had one outage (not sure if it was due to the Router, Linksys modem or Comcast) as I was at work and found out when a call to my Vonage number went to my cell. Rebooted when I got home and everything was working fine. |

this device is updatable by Vonage only. there are no firmware downloads at linksys because they won't be providing them. |

My RT31P2 says firmware 1.24.xx in the top right corner. I got my unit about a week ago. Curious..... it also says Voice Version 2.0.11 (Llc) under the status tab in the router. I wonder what that means? |

I also just received my RT31P2 router but haven't a clue as to how to check the firmware version I am running. Would this be uploaded as needed or is the end user required to keep up with it ? By the way I was very happy with the ease of installation and the quality of service so far. |

Well I did a little reading and logged into the router. My firmware version is 1.24.xx. From the administration page there is a 'remote router access' option for remote upgrades. It is set to 'disabled'. Wonder if that should be changed ? |

yeah they have upgraded the firmware mine now says , 1.24.xx also
The remote question I am pretty sure that needs to be enabled so Vonage can make changes , you can always call and ask. I am fairly new to Vonage myself , almost got my first month under my belt. |

"Remote Upgrade" and "Remote Administration" do not need to be enabled to receive the firmware upgrade. They only need to be enabled if you wish to administer or upgrade your router from an external Internet host. This can be a security hole (especially if you have not changed the admin password) and can simply be disabled. |
