Hi Everyone
I have been using Vonage since June 05
My original router was junk wouldnt even power up.
Vonage sent me a new one which has been fine since yesterday,
I persume they updated my firmwere and cocked it up, as ll my dhcp settings had changed.
I had to reinstall the router since then everything has been fine,
My firmware upgrade is 1.30.01 my router is a RT31P2

I have to be honest, Vonage has been fantastic

Regards to all

My RT31P2 has been running on 1.30.01 for quite some time. Strange you would just now get it? I never have installed my router. Just took it out of the box last January. plugged it in and it worked. What settings must you install and why? I'm just curious. Is there something special about your ISP or computer setup?

Thanks,

Linksys Firmware Upgrade

This page has been found and serves Firmware for Linksys RT31P2 Router enjoy. The firmware version is 1.30.04 and 3.1.07 Voice

Maybe it will fix any problems you have been having with your routers.

ACR means Anonymous Call Rejection for anyone who wants to know what ACR means.

Anyways alexbill I tested out the firmware and the linksys keeps rejecting it over and over again. When I got it to upgrade it kept flashing the need a password box and later freeze to act like it's working, or gets a unauthorized error. I think only Vonage staff, and techs are allowed to upgrade the router. I also heard i think only american model RT31P2's are locked in to Vonage.

I tried to go into Command Prompt and upgrade through TFTP but failed.

I think I will just stick to letting Vonage upgrade my Router. It's better that way because we could break our routers accidently, and could void the routers warranty. That could make Vonage mad because breaking routers is not the way to fix problems.

I think just tell Vonage all the problems about their routers firmware and they should listen and cook up another firmware. Why is firmware made. Any problems will always be fixed

Without the uername and password for the NA firmware, it will not load. I was only able to get the beta firmware to load to the point of requesting a username and password, the other immediatly failed with an error that the firmware was incorrect.

The same thing happened to me.

I kept trying.

I tried to go into CMD (DOS like OS) and did tftp -i 192.168.15.1 and did not accept the image. I tried to upload using the firmware upload page on my routers conf. I even tried to change the firmwares name to code.bin and would not work. I think these RT31P2 routers are locked into Vonage, and Vonage only not linksys.

I think if you have a problem just email them and their techs will work together to fix more firmware, or maybe add more features

The features I want on my router are:

10 port filtering entries

like

1 0-0
2 0-0
3 0-0
4 0-0
5 0-0
6 0-0
7 0-0
8 0-0
9 0-0
10 0-0

(2) Add more DDNS providers like Everydns, DNSExit, and other Dynamic DNS providers

(3) Fix any problems that may accur like hissing, any beeps or other noises that annoy people.

(4) Prevent DoS attacks since the world is now suffering with DoS attacks to prevent Vonage users from losing Vonage service

Thats all.

See just tell them and maybe they will help develope firmware instead of trying so hard and wasting time and energy to get better firmware.

There is something you must know.

That firmware download is VOID in USA RT31P2 products

I searched through Linksys and found out only australia RT31P2 models are not controlled by Vonage, maybe New zealand, or other countries not by america.

I guess we will have to wait if we want new firmware.

So don't download that firmware or could be damages.

One time I got it working but acted weird and said firmware in used.

I think if we use the wrong firmware it could spell disaster and then RIP RT31P2.

I need to start checking if the firmware we get is american model RT31P2 before I put it live on this forum
