Since this forum doesn't seem to have a search function, I figured I'd go ahead and post my question. Hopefully it hasn't been answered before.

I am looking at having up to 4 Vonage lines coming into my church. We want wVoIP internally as well (using a WLAN controller with lightweight APs, an IP PBX, Wi-Fi phones, etc). The issue I have is connecting Vonage to my internal IP PBX. I've been looking at it this way, but if there's another way that's easier and doesn't have Voip > Analog > Voip conversions, I'd love to know about. See below:

Internet Router > Ethernet switch > Vonage VT2442 > DLink DIV-140 (analog gateway) > Ethernet switch.

The IP PBX will also be connected to the Ethernet switch, as will the WLAN controller.

The thing I don't like is having the Voip service being converted to analog (at the VT2442) and converted right back to Voip (at the DIV-140) - that seems a little pointless. Is there any way to connect vonage's IP service directly to the IP PBX in any way?

I don't know the answer to your question, but the search function is the last item on the menu in the upper left corner of the screen.

Ive had success putting my router in front of my Vonage box. The NAT dosnt seem to hinder Vonage in any way. Try putting the Vonage 4 boxes on your internal switch. You can have all 4 behind your router. I have 2 Vonage boxes, and both are inside my network, behind a double nat. Then run your lines to your pbx.

You really dont want your Vonage box to be a single point of failure anyway (as it is in your current config).

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Vonage offers a Business Plus plan that permits BYOD (bring your own device). This would be the only way to eliminated the Digital <-> Analog <-> Digital setup in your office.

Vonage Terms of Service wrote:
If you subscribe to Vonage's Business Plus services, the Service is provided to you as a small business user. You shall not resell or transfer the Service to another party without our prior written consent. You are responsible for supplying, operating and supporting the standard SIP based Customer Premise Equipment for use with the Service.

The downside, the 4 line 5000 minute plan costs $150/month. From a Google search:
https://subscribe.vonage.com/smb-subscribe/index.htm?smb_id=acns

I am not certain Vonage still offers these plans.
