There doesn't seem to be any mechanism for Vonage voicemail to recognize that I am calling from my Vonage phone, and thereby auto-validate me and allow me to skip the PIN entry. Any known tricks to get around this? |

I started service about a week ago. Found the same problem...I e-mailed the robots at customer service...They just write back the same info the instructions say....Call form your VONGE connected phone, *123 and enter your pin....if not your Vonage connected phone you must enter your full phone number and pin....
Here is the trick that FEW Vonage reps know....
Cal, When you get into your voice mail...press 9 for setup option....then press 9 again...The voice will confirm that pin is activated....
This should be documented on the voice mail setup sheet....
There must be other hidden codes for other key combos...
Let me know how you make out..

Nope, I called them about this and was told there's no way around it. The old voicemail system didn't require PIN entry from the home phone location. That's weak!! |

Options --> 9 --> 9 overrides the need to enter the voice mailbox, but not the PIN. Looks like a no-go. Too bad - with all the computer technology behind Voip phones, the bare-bones implementation is a weakness of Vonage compared to some other Voip companies. |

Cal, I misread your question...since I had the problem of the system asking for my mailbox number (full 11 digits).
The PIN asking is okay since it protects you if someone use your phone and accesses the e-mail.
I don't mind the pin...I did mind putting in 11 digits and then the pin... |
