I just signed up with Vonage.... I requested my number to be ported. The number will be ported April 2nd. Is there a way and should I look for the number not to be ported while all this turmoil settles down? If so, how I go about asking them to stop porting process? |

Let's see... some have their number ported after 6 months (or more). By then you might be dealing with Verizon.
Stop this madness now. Keep your existing POT setup. Get a new number with Vonage. Just in case. |

Had Vonage CS tell me Verizon is slow to port numbers. Recall mine taking 3 months. But in the interim before it ported, I set up Verizon so as to call-forward to my Vonage temporary number. |

There is no way the entire Voip industry is going to be forced to shut down. These patents so broadly cover any kind of interconnection from the Internet into the PSTN that they cannot be allowed to stand.
Mark my words: you have nothing to worry about. |

You shouldn't worry about anything going on with Vonage and Verizon but if your concern is you aren't sure if you want Vonage to be your permanent phone line then you could call Vonage and have a stop to the LNP (local number portability) process. |

You can log-in to your web account and try to check the status of your number transfer process.. Or call customer service , they can delay the number transfer process for you.. |
