my phone just stopped working. The in-wall phone rings but cannot answer. There is no dial tone on any of the phones -- in wall or portable. Have tried the usual -- resetting the router etc. My internet connection is fine.

following the instructions, here are the results of the test I ran:

Here the same .. my router has been down for two hours, that I am aware of ..
It can not connect to the Vonage network but it can ping to it. So it should be something related to the Vonage network.

My phone has been fine today and I've been on it for most of the afternoon with conference calls.

For the first poster, you mention an in-wall phones. Are you using wiring in your house or connecting a phone directly to the Vonage device?

If you are using home wiring I would try to plug a phone directly to see what difference that makes, if any.

Hi .. my Vonage gateway is still down with the status:

Provisioning Status: Provisioned:Could not reach config server

The internet connection is fine. I can ping to the Vonage network from the gateway.

I am in Spain right now and the gateway has been working very good since I arrived here two months ago until yesterday when the gateway started to complain about not finding the Vonage network.

I am using the Motorola VT2442 with an static Ip address. Given the facts that it was working perfectly until yesterday, that I can ping the Vonage network and the number of messages related to problems with the Vonage network, I can not help to think that my problem is also in the Vonage network side.

I don't mean to sound certain, but most people are working just fine.

Your thought that the problem is on the Vonage network side seems to be incorrect. It may be a connectivity issue with your ISP, but I would think that its is probably something to with your Vonage device itself.

I know this doesn't give you resolution, but I would start looking at your equipment and setup as well as possibly calling support to find out more about that error you are getting. I don't use the VT2442 so I can't tell you much about what the various errors may mean from a troubleshooting perspective.

I would also try to detail your network setup as someone had previously mentioned. The more detailed information you give here the more likely it is that someone will be able to help you.

You say you're using a static IP address. Is the VT2442 connected directly to the ISP or via another router? Did your ISP assign you a static IP address? Could it have changed? Exactly how are you pinging Vonage? What is your network setup? What does a traceroute to Vonage at f.voncp.com show?

I will try to answer your questions here.

I am in Spain and I have been using Vonage from here for months without problem until last friday. I signed up for Vonage in canada.

I got a high speed internet connection and the VT2442 is connected directly to the network (no router) with an static IP address.

To ping to the Vonage network I do the following:

1) I dig vonage.com and get:

2) I log into the vt2442 and from the tools->ping test section I ping the addresses above getting answer from all of then except from 69.59.254.188 and 216.115.31.140.

I have restarted the modem many times.

The static IP address has not been change. I can ping the vt2442 from another computers in the same network.
