I just got my Vonage service and hooked up about 5 days ago and so far I am pretty happy. I have 3 lines, 2 of the numbers have already been transfered and 1 we are still waiting on. I have 2 vt2442 installed behind a smoothwall box on the DMZ with the 1st adapter feeding the 2nd. The only question that I have is that on the both adapters on the home page it is showing | Code: | | Provisioning Status: Unprovisioned:File Not Found |
I have not been able to find any data about what this means, what causes it, or how to fix it. It does not seem to be affecting my service but it does not seem right. I think I have my own idea of what this is but the "file not found" part throws that off.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

Hum, I surprised that no one has any information about this. I would have thought that someone else would have run across this problem. |

That's a new one. My first instinct would be to say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but if it bothers you probably a call to Customer service is in order.
PS: You should not need to put the VT2442 in the DMZ of your Smoothwall. Not that it hurts anything, but the VT2442 should not require any forwarded ports at all, much less DMZ. All of the more modern Vonage adapters should just need open ports, which basically means that the ports should not be blocked. Your VT2442 initiates all communication to Vonage, and keeps a port open so Vonage can reach your adapter as needed. |

Thanks for the reply. As far as I can tell that has not had any affect on my service but being new I still have not tried all the features. Does any one else use a VT2442 that could tell me what theirs says?
I completely understand that it does not need to be on the DMZ but I wanted to set it up that way for a couple of my own reasons. So far I really like it and seems to be working well.
They also finally got the last number ported over yesterday, yea! |

Update: I was having problems receiving a fax tonight. So I called to get that number changed from a voice to a fax line. (had to make it a voice to get the number ported over) She ended up disconnecting that number and issuing a new fax number for now. Shortly after she did this the status changed to "Provisioning Status: Provisioned". The 2nd adapter is still the same. |

I got a refurbished PAP2 tonight and just plugged it in. It works for phone calls & Internet but I also am getting that message on the Status -> Voice menu.
Provisioning Status: Unprovisioned:File Not Found GR909 Status #1: PASS GR909 Status #2: PASS
[shrug] I'm just going to wait a bit & see if it goes away since everything works.

Okay, that didn't take long to change. I waiting a little bit & now it says...
Provisioning Status: Provisioned GR909 Status #1: PASS GR909 Status #2: PASS
I wonder if it just happens when the router is plugged in (with default config) for the first time. I swear my firmware also jumped from 1.0.something to 5.01.04.
