Post subject: UPDATE
OK. I did three hard shutdowns on the TA and my cable modem. Just like I did earlier this morning. Just like I did late last night. Only this time, after the third time, I got 2 quick flashes, 3 quick flashes, then 4, then solid.
So... the outage, for me at least, is over. Does anyone have an idea when service was restored? I'm still more than annoyed that
VONAGE
doesn't have a more proactive way to let us know the status. But... at this point... I guess it really doesn't matter. But still, I would like to know how long we were all down.

Can the guy who started the thread reply too? It's THU morning and we've still got an outage here in AZ. I've done everything I need to do to reset. My high-speed connection is fine. What's the deal? I don't feel like calling customer service again and waiting for 45 minutes to find out that they are still working on it. Please provide an update here when you get a chance. We're almost up to 24 hours here.
There is no longer an outage for my accounts. Everything seems to be fine. They could be rolling the "update" across the country.
I would call.

Utility pole split, power lost from DWI accident
At 12:47 p.m., police received a report of a serious accident on West Main Street in the area of the
Vonage
offices. Police determined that a 2006 Nissan Armada sport utility vehicle driven by Nicole Devaney, 34, struck a utility pole, severing it in half and leaving the top half hanging from electrical wires.
That is hysterical! How did you find that? I know that area somewhat, thats funny. A couple of weeks ago a random truck accidentally hit and pulled my cable service from the side of my office building, knocking out everything for a few hours. Cablevision responded and fix it in shorter time than
vonage
did their update.

They're just jealous because cable companies don't offer
VoIP
, the best they can do is packetized voice. I refuse to pay the cable companies for video or data services since it takes nearly an hour to get them on the phone even to give them money.
Vonage
has had their hiccups (as has BellSouth) but in the long term, they are both very reliable. I experienced nothing like my neighbors who were without cable service for 3 weeks due to the last ice storm.
1) Cable companies digital phone service is
VoIP
.
2)
Vonage
takes nearly an hour to reach them, why are you paying them money if you are using hold time to free support as a benchmark?
3) My telco was down for a week due to a down drop.
Vonage
has hickups like yesterday, none of this is trouble free. But for around $17 per month I get all the phone I need from
Vonage
with my super fast high speed from Time Warner.

I found it when I set up an "as-it-happens" News Alert on Google News for the phrase "
vonage
outage". I don't think it was related to the outage, though.

I have to say, I've been VERY pleased with the service. I've had ZERO issues since I came up as a customer last April. Previously, I was an AT&T CallVantage customer - and I think
Vonage
is way better. The only issues I've ever had here is with my out-dated desert cable system in Sedona going down. I would still tell people to switch to
Vonage
and I still support the company.
I just wish they had been a bit more proactive with letting us know what had happened.

Could this have anything to do with it?

Nah, that wasn't the cause. I was in the area when that happened on Thursday and the power went out for the whole town. When I was leaving I saw the slit pole right outside of the
Vonage
office, but this wasn't a cause. By Monday (the next time I was in the area), the pole was fixed. The outage occurred on tuesday. Not sure what cause it, but it wasn't the crash

Funny. I never once experienced a problem w/ my
Vonage
service at any time yesterday.
