the fact that you can;t get any light to lit up on the phone adapter tells you that there's something wrong w/ the power adapter. i do believe that you were connected on the right throughput (not sure if thats the right term) previously since you had managed to get dial tone at the first attempt. try another power outlet, you might get some luck there, else, power adapter is screwed up. |

You can buy a transformer to convert from 220v to 110v. Then connect the Vonage power adapter to the transformer |

Too bad it's not a PAP2 version 1, which comes with a nice 100-240 VAC (to 5 VDC) adapter It's very convenient for traveling overseas! Unfortunately, I found myself without proper power for my router (which the PAP2 needs anyway), which only had a 110 VAC (to 12 VDC) adapter. My 220 to 110 VAC travel converter had a meltdown (not meant for continuous duty, I guess). I tried using ICS through my laptop, but it didn't work well enough. I finally found a solution with an extra computer power supply (from a junked PC), most of which have a 110/220 VAC switch on them. The computer power supply outputs include 5 VDC and 12 VDC, but require splicing in the correct plug for the device. A cleanly wired one in a nice enclosure will be in my suitcase for the next trip! |
