From what I know, wireless adapters aren't supported, but people can use somewhat of a hybrid setup in a sense. Peruse the Tivo Community Forums for more info.

I sent my HD DirectTivo to http://www.setupmytivo.com , they were able to upgrade the software so I could connect my USB Wifi unit.

For your series 2 TiVo to function properly, you need to set up your wireless network system. As previously mentioned, there is a TiVo wireless adaptor (AGO 100) that will simplify your setup. Obtain a wireless broadband router with internet connection. Then plug the TiVo AGO 100 into the back of the router. TiVo will identify the IP address and gateway. It will also recognize that your system does not have the latest software and will thus update it automatically.
I would strongly encourage you NOT to "Hack" your TiVo. By purchasing and setting up your TiVo you have agreed to certain levels of responsibility. Hacking is immoral and unethical not to mention that if you are caught doing this there will be consequences. I suspect you just want your system to work properly and if you follow the above, your system will work very well. Be careful not to listen to those people that provide unethical advice.
