Its amazing, there is no problem with calling 1800,866,877,888 numers from a Vonage phone!! Just ask a sales rep. Ask them specifially this question and they will tell you that there in absolutely no problems dialing a 8xx number from a Vonage service! Ask them to email this promise to you and they can't do it.
One rep said I should read the terms of service. Did she? Even if I do, why do the sales reps contradict item 2.13 in the terms of service that state: "May not Support x11/8xx calling."
I have reported this to the CRTC. So should everyone else that is frustrated by this dishonesty and vagueness on the part of sales staff. |

Generally speaking, 8xx numbers are not a problem with Vonage. However, there are exceptions. Some 8xx numbers are restricted with respect to areas from which they'll accept calls. Basically, the holders of those numbers don't want to pay for calls that come from places outside of their business area. Since Vonage calls all appear to come from the Vonage servers in New Jersey, you sometimes can't call those numbers from a Vonage phone. |

This should have been posted on the Canada site since the person is quoting CRTC. There are issues in Canada calling toll free numbers, it is a hit and miss situation. If the toll free number doesn't work, then I look for a regular phone number and call them that way.
Canada post toll free number works and so does Revenue Canada, I did my taxes on the phone. |
