I was trying to enable DMZ on the Motorola VT1005v phone device and afterward I lost my internet connections. Moreover I could not get back into the configuration screen of the Motorola device to undo the damage. Eventually reading some of the messages on the forum I set a fixed IP on the computer to get back in and reset to default, but now the phone adapter wont show a constant signal and I have lost phone service. What can I do? Please help! I cannot call Vonage since I have lost all phone service. Thanks. |

You have probably done this, but if not, turn off ALL devices hooked to your network. Turn on your cable or dsl modem first, wait about fifteen seconds, then turn on the vt1005 and wait a few minutes. If you have a router, be sure to connect the vt1005 directly to the modem to eliminate router problems before turning everything back on. |

I think I know what the problem might be. In an effort to restore my settings I used the admin.html page and set the phone device to "factory default". Now my phone number does not show up on the status page. How can I get this back? Vonage does not respond to my email pleas for help. I have no way of contacting them directly. This is so frustrating. |

I was trying alternate settings with my VT1005 and unchecked the "use DHCS(?)" box, and now can no longer access it. When I ping it i get | Quote: | PING 192.168.102.1 (192.168.102.1): 56 data bytes --- 192.168.102.1 ping statistics --- 5 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss |
My setup was: Motorola Surfboard Modem -> VT1005v -> Linksys WRT54GS
any ideas? |

are you sure you don't mean DHCP? if there's a reset button on the unit, hit that. otherwise, I wonder if unplugging it for a while will have the same effect. not sure. |

As you have turned off DHCP, you will need to establish a computer connected to the MTA with an IP address in the range of 192.168.102.* - i.e. set the IP address of the PC connected to the MTA to 192.168.102.10 with a mask of 255.255.255.0, reboot the computer and surf to the admin page for the MTA at 192.168.102.1/admin. From there you can either factory reset - or just turn DHCP back on. |
