The international V-access numbers do not seem to be working.
The U.S. V-Access numbers work fine: after I hit 1 to complete the call, I get a recording that says, "please wait while we try to connect your call" and my call is connected immediately.
When I attempt to use an international V-Access number, I dial my Vonage number, hit 1 to confirm, and nothing happens, just silence. I do not hear the "we are attempting to connect..." recording.
I have duplicated the problem with several countries' V-Access numbers. |

You are supposed to use the v-access number while in the area for that number.
You can call the international numbers for free, therefore you don't require to use the v-access numbers. |

When I call the international numbers, I do not call from my Vonage line. I call using CallServe or Voipbuster programs on my computer. So the V-Access service should not be able to identify the source as a Vonage number.
I can dial the U. S. and Canada numbers from the Voip programs, my cell phone, and even my Vonage line, and they work properly. (When I call a v-access number from my Vonage line, the incoming call rolls over to my forwarding number.) So I don't think that the geographical location of the orgin of the call is an issue.
I'll try the U.K. numbers again, calling them from CallServe. CallServe is based in the U.K. |

I just dialed the London number (7101 9500) from a phone within London. I was able to complete calls to my U.S.-based Vonage number, but only if I dialled as if calling from the U.K. (after all, I was calling from the U.K.), that is, with 001 NPA NXX-XXXX.
I also successfully called a U.S. non-Vonage 800 number (as Vonage advertises they support) by dialling 001 800 XXX-XXXX.

Bingo! That was it. I successfully tested the UK and Mexico City numbers by dialing 001 before my area code. Thanks! |
