I am running a 5 line Vonage call hunt sequence at my business. My problem is that, when call hunt is active, if a call to the number is unanswered, it rings forever, because the technicians have told me to set every line except the last to "No voicemail". If you specify a voicemail box instead, the call hunt simply doesn't work-- a caller to that number who encounters a busy signal get routed to voicemail instead of the next line in the sequence. This is despite the written instructions on the Vonage site that say you can specify a "no answer" mailbox. This is driving me crazy. Fortunately, our PBX normally picks up the line, so normally this isn't a problem, but when the power fails, as it does here alot, callers get no voicemail. We are a homecare agency, so having our clients be able to get instructions on an emergency number or even to leave a message can be a matter of health and safety. |

Well, we do have UPS's hooked up to the equipment, but power outages can last for many hours, sometimes days, so that's not a solution.
I don't think the simulring feature is a possibility, as if one one the lines in the list is busy, voicemail is activated for that line before the others can be picked up. |
