Just a quick note of thanks to Vonage. The v-access numbers (local call numbers that allow you to call a Vonage number for FREE!) work very well. My wife visited Montreal this weekend and used the local 514 Vaccess number to call home (Charlotte, NC). She had no problems accessing the local 514 area code number and all worked well. Best of all, no charge. Great feature Vonage! |

I agree the service works great, as long as the city you visit as a v-access number. I was in Fort Worth Texas the other day and 2 weeks ago and used the service. I even had my wife transfer my phone call to a co-workers house, all for free. |

Just for grins and giggles, I tried the 800 V-Access number that was posted some months ago and IT WORKS AGAIN!!! Apparently, Vonage has reactivated the functionality --- callers to the 800 number must listen to a "commercial" then they enter a Vonage subscriber's phone number and Voila, the call goes through!
Yippee!!!! |

I have been using that number for a couple of months, but I didn't want to post it. The last time the number was posted it was only a matter of days that it was discontinued. I hope it doesn't happen again. |

It works, but there's NO COMMERCIAL actually !
Once it answers, just dial 1 (phone number) # 1
The prompts CAN be bypassed !
Now if there could be a way to access 'your account' and have it then dial any int'l number for example (and incurring Vonage rates) it would be great - Ie, I could use my cell phone to call an int'l number and pay the Vonage rates - I don't see why that's not possible though... |
