PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2004 3:49 am    Post subject: Voicemail volume Reply with quote Back to top

Hello,

I recently signed up for the Vonage service and was configuring my voicemail and had to, literally, yell in order to have a greeting loud enough that it could be heard.

The same problem exists when leaving voice mail, the volume is so low that I cannot hear the message. I had a few friends call to leave messages and the same problem persisted.

Anyone know what might be causing this and what I can do about it?... I have to believe that it has nothing to do with my internet connection since practically speaking it would seem that when a call is transferred to voicemail it does not go through that connection. Am I wrong about this?

Thanks!

- Greg

I haven't seen the exact problem you are describing - poor volume recording greetings. But, I have extremely low volume on left messages. It is slightlly hard to hear over the phone; but almost impossilbe to hear the WAV file that I can retrieve on-line. With powered speakers turned full-up, I can just about hear it.

Same here. Voicemail recordings do not have enough audio. To make maters worse, the system voice prompts are plenty loud, so if you turn up the volume enough to hear the recorded messages, the prompts are WAY loud.

I just signed up and am testing my voicemail and I had the same problem. Can anyone else tell me if they're still having these problems. Anyone from the earlier posts that corrected the issue please let me know what the solution was. Thanks so much!!

The .WAV files via e-mail still don't have enough volume, although the phone-based levels seem to be somewhat better than in the past.

I wish I could tell you that I did something to make it better, but I did not. I'm just waiting for Vonage to get around to fixing it.

Has anyone had any luck in calling customer service to get this resolved? I can't hear my voice-mails via a PC connection at all but I can hear them if I call the system.
