Hi all.
I am having problems with the quality of calls when ever the internet is in use. Its so bad that the other person can barely hear what im saying because of the breakage.
My setup is as follows...
Cogeco Cable Modem > Linksys BEFSR41 > Motorola VT2442 > My Computer.
There is also an additional computer connected direct to the Linksys Router sharing the internet connection.
Is there a checklist i can go through to configure the routers for optimial use?
I have tried the Vonage help files which includes...
Disabling all firewalls and SPI, changing the bandwith saver on the dashboard, ceased all P2P downloading.
I've heard that you can change QoS settings to prioritise traffic for Vonage but there is no option on the BEFSR41 for that. And according to some threads in here, the VT2442 is already set to prioritise traffic form Vonage and so there is no point in changing those settings.
Thanks. |
