Post subject: What sequence is Vonage - changing priority for better QOS
I have been having garbled/sporatic connections for the last week or so. I found and have been browsing this forum for a few days and want to thank all of you for posting. While no single post helped me with my problem, every post that I read each got me just a little bit closer.
My
Vonage
box is the Linksys RT31P2. I have a PC and a wireless router D-Link DI-524 for my laptop and Tivo. My wireless router does not allow me to change the priority of the hardware in it's setup.
I had them connecting in this order...
Cable ->Modem-> Wireless Router-> Ethernets into PC &
Vonage
Last night I changed ithe priority to make
Vonage
the first to get the cable signal...
Cable->Modem->Vonage->Ethernets into PC & wireless (wan port)
After I did that, I had the clearest phone conversation that I've had in a week. I also went from a QOS (Quality of Service) from 80% to 96% - Woo Hoo!
I wanted to share in case something this simple could help someone else.
Good luck!
