Post subject: Another Problematic Monday with Vonage?
Anyone else having issues this a.m.? From 2 different ISPs (Road Runner at home, and a Global Crossing Gig-E at work) I'm having the same issue-- about 1 in 3 incoming calls ring once or twice, then roll to the Network Availability number. Outgoing calls either go to dead air, or appear to ring indefinitely without actually connecting through to that number. (Tested by calling both my cell phone and a Verizon copper line from
Vonage
line. The
Vonage
line "rang" in my ear, but neither the cell phone, nor the landline, actually rang.)
I also called both a friend, and my wife at work. Neither picked up. Dialed them back with my cell and got right though, and both said the phone at their end never rang (when I dialed with
Vonage
).
Anyone else?
Also, the
Vonage
home pages comes up, but I'm having a hard time logging in-- keep getting Page Cannot Be Displayed errors after logging in, and when I refresh the screen, I'm thrown to
https://secure.
vonage
.com/
vonage
-web/public/login.htm. Logging in from that page seems to work OK, although once in the control panel there are random broken images and occasionally the fonts/spacing are screwed up as if the style sheet is missing.

I just attempted 2 calls to Miami FL and although I connected I could not hear hardly anything the other person said and in the end they either hung up or I got disconnected. Although the 1st page of these forums say there is no problem after I connected to my Dashboard with some difficulty there was a lot of missing information and a message that there was Voice Issues and the Engineers were working on it!

2:42pm EST, still getting Choppy audio on my end...
What's sad is I'd LOVE to use the trump card that I have with
Vonage
but until it's for something REALLY good - I'm hesitant... however the service is going downhill faster and faster and someone needs to put a broom handle in that bicycle wheel before we're all killed at the bottom of that hill

Agreed, found this when I logged into my
Vonage
account:
"Service Announcements
Customers may be experiencing an issue with audio quality on calls. Our engineers are aware of the situation, and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter."
So they obviously know about it, but this has been going on since this morning, which is NOT good.

I am having the same issues. I use
Vonage
for my business and was very delighted when I first switched over back in November but since the quality has gone to crap. I had $2,000. worth of radio ads running today and my customers can't get through to me. If they do get through they can not hear a word I am saying and vice versa. I hate Bellsouth with a passion but I would rather put up with their BS and at least have a functioning phone.

Post subject: Vonage Service Problems
I have also had substantial problems with
Vonage
today. Choppy audio.
My one year is up at the end of March. Looks like I'll be a member of that ever growing "customer churn" number!

I just got my V-Phone today. Hooked it up, called my wife, I could hear her but she couldn't hear me.
Wasted about 2 hours messing with firewalls/router.
Called
Vonage
support and the nice Indian girl told me it;s a network issue and the engineers are working on it. Call back in 2 hours.....
What a way to greet a new customer!
I asked her when it would be back up and she said check the Web site for service status messages. I did and it said there were no outages. About an hour before that there was a message there.
She claims there is still an outage...5:39 EST

I had some problems this morning - actually ended up dropping off a conference call because I couldn't understand a word anyone was saying (It sounded like about 1/8 of a second was being chopped every other second, with some distortion). I tried to reconnect, but the connection was so bad I could not dial my conference access code after repeated attempts.
I kept using "933" as my testing system (and learned that apparently I have E-911 finally, at least). The "chop" was intermittent, sometimes making the call audible and sometimes complete gibberish. Occasionally, I even got a crystal-clear call. Other times, I couldn't even get through (no outbound ring at all).
Later, I had to join another con call and actually made it through the call, but there was a good deal of static on the line whenever anyone spoke. I could make out everything that was said, fortunately, but it was like a really bad cell connection. No major complaints on the outbound voice, but one person did mention a quiet crackling/static-ish noise that he said was quite tolerable, and my voice was strong and clear, at least.
In my year and a half of
Vonage
service, this is the second time I've had call-quality-related issues, and the first time it's involved more than one phone call. So, while I'm a little upset about today's outage, I'm not ready to call customer retention just yet.

Thanks for the update NateHoy - I've had the *exact* same issues this past week or so...have we been on the same conference calls?
I initially wondered if it was a phone adapter issue, since a simple reboot would temporarily fix things. Guess that's not the case. I'm willing to wait this one out, in hopes it gets fixed soon. But the wife is getting frustrated. Ugh.
