Can sometimes send fax (mostly not), cannot receive.

==> Can send and receive faxes just fine from laptop modem

Lexmark Web site says they support VoIP.

Lexmark Support sent a lame respones.

Faxes, Tivo, Modems all need to continuously negotiate connection with the devices on the other end and poor broadband connection quality is THE NUMBER ONE problems that Vonage customers have. Forget the download speed as that's never the problem, but focus on the advertised vs actual upload speed, quality of service score, round trip time, and max pause. Usually people without problems have 350+kbps ul speed, >80% Quality of service, <80ms round trip, and <150 max pause.

Had done the speed test. Results:
> Download 7.81 Mbps
> Upload 370 kbps
> Round trip 65 ms
> Max pause 42 ms
> Quality of Service 67%

Have no problem faxing from the laptops using their modem.

Always have a problem with the Lexmark X5470.

Anybody have a Lexmark X5470 that works? If so, did you do anything special?

Received instructions from Lexmark Support on how to clean NVRAM. The machine now receives faxes, but fails when sending faxes. The modems in two different laptops continue to work just fine for sending and receiving faxes.

Disable ECM capability for your fax machine, and should fix your problem.

DISABLE ECM AND ALSO IF YOU CAN LOWER BAUD RATE ON FAX MACHINE TO 9600 OR LOWER AND REMEMBER TO RESET FAX ANY TIME YOU EVER REBOOT SYSTEM OR HAVE FAX DISCO FROM POWER
