I had been using Vibestreamer, an mp3 streamer, for a few months with no problems. When I hooked up the Vonage, the software will "no longer bind to socket". Has anyone had similiar software compatibilty issues? Willa reconfig of the Vonage router help? Thanks in advance! |

To start, what Vonage adapter do you have? Did your old setup have your computer directly into the modem? Sounds like it could possibly be a firewall issue. Looking at vibestreamer's FAQ it does say that if you have a router in-front of the computer you are using you may need to forward ports as it needs to be able to receive inbound connections. It says that port is configurable so you should know what port you need to forward. Tell me what router you have any I will tell you what you need to do to forward the appropriate ports. |

the best option is 1. assign a static ip on ur ps as..... ip=192.168.15.x, def=192.168.15.1, sub mas=255.255.255.0, 2. open up the 192.168.15.1 page with an explorer, username=admin. password=admin, go to application and gaming>>DMZ>>check enable and put in the ip u did on the pc, do a reboot, it will fix the issue |

Why would he want to open up every port to his computer and have all unrequested internet traffic routed directed to his PC? Not only is this unneeded(he only needs one port open not ~255,000) but it is a huge security risk. The ONLY reason to DMZ a computer is it a server that is set up to handle all traffic without posing a network security risk. |

Thanks for all the input! My router is the Motorola VT1005, Before it, I was hooked up directly to the cable modem, a Motorola Surfboard 5101. |
