I have been a customer for over 2 years at my 2 business locations and after fighting dropped calls, weird noises, no listings in local phone books, fax lines that work less than 50% of the time, and a customer service dept in which english is a 2nd (or 3rd?) language - I quit!!! Bellsouth ( now AT&T - who can keep up?) has made a deal with me for unlimited LD and good rates. However, the telephone #'s in one office cannot be "ported" so new #'s were issued. Vonage has refused to install a simple recording (The number you have diled has been changed the new number is ....), the gentleman in India I was able to speak with stated that "it is not our problem", wow, what great customer loyalty he inspires, thanks Vonage. |

That is simply not a service that Vonage offers. They don't do it for any customers, its not something that is even built into their system so they would have to completely rebuild something to do that. It is kind of stupid that they do not offer this, but the fact is they do not and yelling at their reps in India/Phillipines/wherever they are is not going to change that. I would be more angry at AT&T personally for not being able to port my number. Especially with a Voip service, once you terminate you should have no expectation of ANY type of continuing service, thats just not how they are set up. |

Perhaps you misunderstood, I am a professional and can make my point WITHOUT yelling, but being in a service industry as I am, providing the best service possible ,even with a customer who is leaving, is just good business. If you dispose of customers who are leaving your service like yesterdays trash, you will reap what you sow. |

If you want to keep your number for a while and have a recording - then you have a choice of cutting your Vonage service down to the $15/month plan and putting what ever you want on the voice mail (like "Call this new number - don't leave a message here"). It'll cost a bit - but people will be able to find you. |
