Post subject: Is your RTP300 HOT?
You may also want to consider whether or not your device is overheating. I had lots of noise problems on my RTP300 and eventually figured out that it was just overheating. If I gave it time to cool off it would work for a while (and if I super-cooled it in the freezer it would work really well for a while) until it got hot again. Eventually I just called
Vonage
and they quickly agreed to replace the unit when I told them it was actually hot to the touch.

Thanks for that info. For my womans situation it's the firmware, cause I got ahold of the older firmware and it started working great again. Then as people have said, it automatically updated itself and the static was back. I myself haven't had any problems with
Vonage
, but that is becuase I don't have a Linksys
..... I have yet to see one function properly.....
She just needs a different unit, but don't know how to go about getting one since every single person she has asked on customer support has given her a different answer.

i'm just a new member here and it's interesting to know that an audio problem that some of you encountered is being handled by simply checking on the status of your power adapter...but if it won't work, can anyone suggest other options?
Thanks.
