If anyone knows of one post it here please.
Or just some sort of known issues page that people can view... that would really save the support center a lot of calls.
The wait que for support is over 15 minutes long today.
Today the phone system is giving no dial ton, fast busies, number is not in service and call forwarding/simulring is forwarding sometimes or not for about 2 minutes. Really odd system behavior.

hmm not sure that would cause such an effect like this because it comes through New York.
To add to my list of issues... I am now getting rigs from known numbers that are delayed many minutes coming in and theres noone on the other end. I just called that number from my cell phone and was unable to make the connection, "not in service" type message.
So I called the parties cell number and they are not on the other line and they have the same delayed ringing happening too. |

My Vonage service has been out for over 24hrs now and I still get no dial tone. Power cycling th adapter didn't help at all. There seems to be more ppl in the States experiencing the same problem but I've only seen two ppl mentioning it for Canada. I guess we're the unlucky few.
Update: Ok, apparently power cycling the adapter alone doesn't work. Got through to tech support and he said he did something at his end and had me power cycled everything on my end; modem, router and adapter. Now my Vonage service is back online and happy. |

Same problem here in Toronto yesterday. All calls to my number got a "number not in service message" and I was unable to make calls for much of the day. I have only had Voip for a couple of days, so am unsure as to whether I can depend on it. I couldn't reach tech support, and the Vonage website had no updates. Is it always this unreliable? |

This service has been generally reliable. It has been going through growing pains as the pioneering of the system is still in it's infancy. Considering the mass undertaking of such a large scale version of Voip telecommunications network it's doing pretty good from a technical stand point.
Yes there are some interruptions in the network occasionally but it has to happen sometimes while the system matures.
Vonage Engineers should consider a user accessible network page that can give some real time view of interruptions and a status of repair or at least show that it is known and being dealt with. THIS WOULD ALLEVIATE A PILE OF CALLS TO TECHNICAL SUPPORT. |

I've had Vonage for over two years and have had VERY FEW problems with the service. Occasionally I will get a small issue...usually more of a minor annoyance than an issue. Perhaps my simulring won't ring my cell phone and the caller gets my voicemail when my cell didn't ring on my end. Sometimes calls going straight to voicemail with no ringing of my home Vonage line. Just little things like that. They usually work themselves out very quickly.
Any time I have had to call support, I have never had to wait any more than 5 minutes to talk to an agent and usually it is immediate. They are always extremely friendly and fix the issue very quickly. Customer Service...well...that's a different story for a different time and place. Don't even get me started on Customer Service. *LOL*
On the whole..Vonage is awesome! I would highly recommend it to anyone who makes a lot of long distance calls. Nothing better....so stick it to your local phone companies...they have been sticking it to us for years!! |
