Anyone else having trouble with Caller ID?

My phone displays a series of dashes -----------

It's not a problem with my phone either, I tried 2 different types plus PhoneTray software. Furthermore the incoming calls on the website don't display the callerid either.

I'm in the St. Catharines area on Cogeco.

I have a similar problem. My caller id name is not working. When soneone call me i see the number but not the name

After talking to EVERY tech in Vonage and after being transfert to the hight tech of Vonage us i receive this stupid answer:

I regret to inform you that there is nothing more we can do concerning this as
the carriers have told us there is no Guarantee on caller ID to work in Canada
it is on a "Best Effort" Basis. So they we will be unable to open tickets for
us in order to resolve these issues.

Neither the name nor the number works for me.

I opened a ticket a week ago. Yesterday they emailed me saying the issue should be fixed:
Quote:
We have made changes to the settings of your Vonage device which should allow your inbound caller id info to appear correctly. Please retest at your convenience.

But no joy. Nothing changed.

As I explained in my ticket request, it has nothing to do with my Vonage device. Because even on the website call log there is no caller id. Every incoming call says "Caller ID Not Available".

I have been with Vonage for a year now and I am going back to bell, I really don't want to but I am not going to pay for lousy services.I was not informed at first that if I cancelled my bell service that I would have to get a "dry loop" connection. Well after about 10 days of no phone or internet service I finally got reconnected and the problems continued.I am fed up with the crap you need to do to get Vonage to sort of work !!I e-mailed Vonage several days ago and I still have not heard back from them! NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE EH!!!!Well add me to the unimpressed list for Vonage! Between the echo which Vonage says is all my fault, caller id not working much anymore, lousy sound quality, making calls that people on other end cant hear me,having to call back, bad connections, cant hear other person because of lousy connections the list goes on and on. It has also caused me problems with my computer. So best wishes to all you fishes with vonage!! hope it works better for you!!

I just completed the switch back to bell I can actually have nice clear calls now, it wasn't that hard to do. Bell was very helpful and it went smooth. I kept my number, Vonage did not give me a hard time about this, thanks. I lost incoming calls for about 12 hours ( but I could call out)while my number was ported back to bell, the service was great, I wasn't expecting the level of service from bell and was pleasantly surprised!! Have fun **** about the lousy quality from vonage!! Bye !!
