I have been unable to receive incoming calls since first connecting my VT2142. I have a dialtone and can dial out, but callers either get "all lines are temporarily busy" or a fast busy signal. I have contacted my isp Road Runner, and have found that they are not blocking incoming calls. I have contacted Vonage numerous times over the last 5 days and still have no solution. I tried the Voip test and it never completes (even went as far as waiting for over an hour). My cable modem is a Webstar. I need phone service badly - my company closed right before Christmas and I'm desperately trying to get a job. I have gone through an unbelievable amount of the posts searching for a solution but to no avail. |

A few questions to help us diagnose the issue:
-Are you using a Vonage assigned number or did you bring your number over with you? -Does this happen when you get a call from a Vonage user? -Go here: http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/wnp/en/Action/PECLanding and enter your number and zip. Continue on until it tells you who the current owner of your number is, post that here. |

Also, please post the rest of the information listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum. Check to see that your browser has the latest version of Java installed. If not, install it and the Voip test should run. If that's not it, then go to www.testyourvoip.com and run a test call to Boston. Post those detailed results. |

Thank you for your posts I am in Port Richey, Florida I have Brighthouse/RoadRunner cable internet (internet and cable tv work fine) I am unsure of my upload and download speeds but the internet is as fast as it was with comcast in Michigan (I moved here in October) and it is good. How do I check it? My modem is a Webstar DPC2100 R2 Vonage router is the VT2142-VD Issue is, I have never received an incoming call and can't I am using a Vonage assigned number (did not port a number) I have not received any calls from a Vonage user (I don't know any, if you have one, please feel free to call me so I will know) The info on the nextel site said: Number (727) 232- 1538 Eligible Yes Network iDEN/CDMA Reason N/A The test call to Boston resulted in a quality result of 4.3 I think this is all the info requested. |

Hi, Carla. That's a good start, but please re-run the test call to Boston. Copy all of the results and post them. Since your score was very good, we probably won't see anything in the data, but it helps to be sure.
Did you have any luck getting the forum test to run?
When you check your Vonage account, does it list the correct number there? |

1. (727) 232-**** INTERMEDIA COMM WRL
This is what I was looking for, you stopped one screen too soon.(Also, you may want to edit out your number from your previous post if you care about people calling you.)
Intermedia is not a carrier I recognize as a Vonage CLEC so most likely that is your problem. If they assigned you a number it is a good possibility that the previous person who had that number ported it out of Vonage when they left. The only resolution to this is to call Vonage and ask them to change your number to a working DID. Explain your issue to them and tell them you think they gave you a number that has been ported out of their service. |

Is that what you were looking for?
I did check my Vonage account and it lists the correct number.
As for the Vonage ip test, I have run it and it's still going after 10 minutes... |

Right, but it looks like Vonage may not own the number they gave you, hence PSTN networks would not be routing inbound calls to Vonage. I just checked and Vonage to Vonage is completing to you so I can say with 110% certainty that this is the problem. Call Vonage tell them your number was ported out by a previous customer and request that they change your number, they should have no problem with this and then you will be up and running. |

Your test results look good, so Xcrunxc's advice is your path forward. |
