Currently have Time-Warner Roadrunner and digital phone service. Switching to Vonage for phone service. My current config has a cable run from my cable modem to an existing telephone wall jack. The installer wired the wall jack so we could plug a phone into any/all jacks in the house and have digital phone service. Can I run the cable from my new Vonage adapter to this same jack with the same results ? or must I just run the cable to a stand alone phone ? I just ordered this service and have not received the h/w yet. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks |

You can hook up Vonage exactly the same as your current setup is, just make sure your inside phone jacks are not connected to the telephone line coming into your house. (probably has been disconnected all ready)
One question, what are your reasons for leaving Time Warner? They are just starting to push the service around here. |

Strickly $ for making the switch. I have been using T/W for Roadrunner and ditital cable TV for a long time and really like their service. It seems people either love'em or hate'em .... I've had great luck. I switched to their digital phone service several months ago after 'Southern Bell' , the local land line provider charged me .12 cents toll for a local call within my own city. They said the Wal-Mart phone line was routed through a different city CO even though they were physically located within my city limits. I expressed my displeasure and they told me to take it or leave it. So I left ! ( I see now where a lot of the old local Ma Bell's are hurting as customers are waking up and seeing how they have been taken advantage of for years). I guess they still think they have a monopolpy on phone service, at least they act that way. Bottom line I am switching from Time Warner ($39.00 per month) to Vonage ($24.99 per month) to save money. |

Thanks for you reply. I too have Time Warner Cable and Roadrunner and was under the impression that their phone service would be discounted to those of us who turned their paychecks over to them in the first place. |

That $39.95 is discounted. If you don't have the RR and D-Cable package already it's around $45. The prices may drop as more competition is available. I want to some day get to cell only. I have an AT&T package right now but can't get enough minutes to rely on it for everything. |
