How can I access my VT2142? The manual says to go to http://192.168.15.1, but from looking at the router DHCP client table, the VT2142 is getting a dynamically assigned 192.168.1.100.

Set-up is

cable modem ---> linksysBEFSX41vers2 ----->vt2142

My Vonage service is working, but i hear "clicks" on the incoming audio, was thinking of assigning a static ip.

if that is the ip that your router is assigning to it, you should use that ip from what i know.

You can't access the VT2142 from the WAN interface at its default settings. You will need to plug a PC into the VT2142's LAN(yellow) port and then go to 192.168.15.1 and you will be able to access the VT2142(Default login - Username: router Password: router).

Also, clicks on incoming audio is not something that I would expect to be alleviated by setting a static IP address. For this you would be looking at the phone port and upstream from there. If you are connected to your home wiring, try it with a phone directly to the adapter to rule that out as a cause. If it persists, try a different phone cord, then a different telephone. This will rule out everything but the adapter itself. Once you can isolate it to the adapter, you may want to test the 2nd phone port, it is possible it may be a problem with that actual port.

You can move your number to port 2 right from your web account. Go under add-ons and click on move a line. Select your number and click move, the only free spot should be port #2 so this is where you number will go. Then power down your Vonage adapter for about a minute to let the settings get out through Vonage's systems, then bring back up your adapter. It may take a few minutes to take the changes but once completed your number will then be on port #2. Plug your phone into phone #2 and go through the above sequence of tests again. If there is still clicking after all of this, chances are you have a bad adapter. If this is the case, you will need to contact Vonage. You device is still under warranty so they should replace it without a problem, just be sure to tell them you did all the above testing to expedite the process.

xcrunxc - thanks for the help. I will skip the static ip and go right to
troubleshooting the phone line/port. As it was, the phone was directly in the VT2142. Yesterday my number got ported and I put the house wiring on the VT2142.
I will let you know what the solution is once I dig in.
