Sometimes I cannot make phone call even all connections on modem (Motorola SB5100), Linksys router (WRT54G) and systray looks OK. This is cable internet.
I called my Internet provider (COMCAST) and they told that it could be because of very busy traffic.
I got in 2 diffirenet situations:
1. no dial tone at all,.
2. dial tone is OK, but after dialing the phone number, I'm getting busy signal.
Does somebody has the same expirience?
Will DSL work better?
Thank you |

Try to post all the technical details.Connect your vonage device directly to the cable modem and change phone.after doing this check if it is fine.

Simply saying this helps us to decide the data compression/bandwidth used.log in to your web account and you can see it under features.try setting it to normal if it is high.

I think that my router and phone are OK.
something wrong with internet connections, even they look good everywhere, i mean, all lights on modem and router behave correctly, internet connections on systray: startus="connected", speed=100 mbs
also, in this situation i cannot open any website.
and idea what could be wrong with cable?
I called COMCAST few times and every time they telling different story: big traffic, or area outrage...
honestly, i don;t buy their tales story...
any idea or simular expirience? |
