I have a Dlink VWR Vonage adaptor and my fax works great with it, no need to dial *99, it just goes thru.
My first router with Vonage was an RT31P2, and that was a different story, always failing with faxes, even if I dialled *99......I presume its just a router software issue that Vonage can't always remedy!

I am looking for a concrete list of all-in-one's that actually work with Vonage. I realize that several factors play into whether a machine will work or not - but over the course of a couple of months it has become apparent that some machines take more work than others or just altogether less likely to work with Vonage service (dedicate fax line or not).

I have attempted to follow this forum over the course of a couple of months trying to determine if there is a specific all-in-one or even a few machines that work. I attempted to get the information directly from Vonage and got the standard all fax machines work despite the numerous threads on this forum that suggest otherwise.

I work a part-time job from home and the company may pay for a new all-in-one that works). I would like to try to increase the odds in my favor that the machine will work by trying an unscientific poll.

Several people have responded to this forum saying there machines work with Vonage just fine.

Can individuals share specifically what all-in-one(s) they have found that work with Vonage?

Mine is an HP LJ3200. Unfortunately for you, it is no longer offered. I have found that I do not have to use the *99 anymore. It works only with the 'enhanced' turned off.

Good afternoon.

I just got a new HP OfficeJet 7310 and was reading I only have to hook it up in the same voice Vonage line? Like with a splitter on my Motorola VT2142 phone adapter?

Thanks.

I have the dedicated fax line. Previously, I was using the Linksys WRTP54G and the rather simple HP Laserjet 3050. I did not have to do the *99. However, it took lots of adjustments from HP and Vonage to get it to work. The biggest thing was to set the baud rate on the fax down to 9600. Then turn off ECM. Now, I am using the Motorola VT2542 with that same HP Laserjet 3050. Everything still seems to be working OK. Oh, one thing I remember being told from Vonage was that the fax machine would work better with the higher bandwidth setting.

most of the issues of faxing are not due the fax machine itself but the NW that it is connected to for HP all-in-one fax machines

A few steps to try:

Press # and * at the same time then it should show you the service with a revision number then press the right arrow key until you see something that says RW parameter then press 153 on the key pad and it will say parameter 0, then press enter and then press the number 2 and enter again then it will say parameter 0 again...Then press 159 and it will say parameter 0 again press the number 2 and the press enter and it will go back to paramter 0

You have just set the send/receive rate to 9600 which works much more reliably than faster speeds

then make sure you turn off the error correction mode (ECM)

If you are having problems receiving faxes make sure that if you used to have distinctive ring that you turn it off or set it to answer all rings and if the line that it is connected to is a dedicated fax machine then set the fax machine to auto answer

also one method to try is if you have the Vonage device direct to the fax machine make sure the Vonage device is direct to the modem//many times fax issues are caused by the fax having to pass through another router firewall

I would LOVE to have a fax work consistently on Vonage. I work from home and send quite a few faxes. I am on my third Brother, now a MFC-7420. I cant send more than 3 or 4 pages before I get a COMM error. Its beyond frustrating. I have a dedicated fax line as well running through a Linksys RT31P2. 3Mb cable line. Voice quality is OK but this fax issue is driving me crazy to the point I am ready to drop them (had Vonage for 2 yrs now).

I had that same horrible experience with my fax! At the time, I was using the Linksys WRTP54G with the HP3050. Between Vonage and HP, all of the changes that are posted in this section were done. First of all Vonage had to make some adjustments on their end. The one thing I remember is "Packetization was set to 10." On my end, I had to change the baud/transmission rate to 9600; turn off ECM, and set the resolution to standard. Just recently, I noticed in the FEATURES section of my account page, there is a bandwidth setting for the fax line, which wasn't there previously. The technician told me that the faxing would work better if I set the bandwidth for the fax line to the highest setting. Well, I did that. I also switched to the Motorola VT2542 and for the past 3 weeks, my fax has worked consistently, even when receiving/sending more than 3 pages.

I have a Brother MFC-8840DN that I have hooked into one side of a two way phone line splitter. The other side of the splitter goes to my wireless house phones base station. The input side to the splitter comes from my Vonage RT31P2.

I've had this setup for about 1.5 years and never had problems sending or receiving single or multi-page faxes up to 20-30 pages.

For every incoming call, the Brother simply eaves-drops after the initial rings and if it hears a fax tone, it will answer and receive the fax. If it doesn't hear the tone, it won't answer and the house phone rings normally. If I have an incoming fax and inadvertently pick up the phone and hear the fax tone, I simply hang up and the Brother never misses a beat.
