I checked the docs (gee, what a concept) and it seems that yellow=10baseT (green=100baseT). Does this mean I'm only getting 10Mbs rate from the VT2142 to my DLink router (and then 100Mbs from my router to my PC)? What's up with that?

I checked the docs (image!) and it says that green=100baseT, yellow=10baseT. Does this mean that there's a bottlenck between the VT2142 and my router? My PC reports 100Mbps connection. How do I get complete 100Mbs?

Ouch, I should have remembered that. But are we talking about the internet light or the ethernet light? It's the internet light that should indicate the connection speed to your router, if it's set up the way you indicated above. I'd check the router settings. Maybe something is set to limit the speed to 10. |

The internet light is green -- it is the Ethernet light that is yellow.
Doing more research... I think my router's top speed is 54Mbs (See Here) which, I guess is why the Vonage device reports only 10Mbps.

I'm still confused. You indicated in your first post that you're going from your modem to your router to the Vonage box. The internet light on the Vonage box should indicate the link to the router and the ethernet light should indicate the link to the computer. If the ethernet light is yellow, it's the computer link that's running at 10. |

Sorry, no. Based on your earlier post, in order to get the best phone performance, my configuration is now:
MODEM > Vonage > ROUTER > PC
But if my modem doesn't support 100Mbps, then I guess this is the way it has always been.

Ah. Sounds like your diagnosis is correct. |
