My sister has a Vonage and she's been getting this error everytime she picks up the phone and tries to make an outbound call (even inbound doesnt work anymore) and we cant figure out the solution.

This is the error--"vonage device cannot contact the Vonage network"

The internet connection set up is this

DSL router- >>wireless router(linksys)->>vonage router

To get an internet connection we need to dial up to the dsl, we set up the wireless router to have the username and the password of the dsl so it will be automatic detection everytime we open the computer, of course the Vonage router is now connected to the wireless...

Everything is fine but this past two days, we get that error. We tried everything, from restarting all the routers, to disabling the firewall (zone alarm) in the computer.
By the way, everytime we restart the Vonage router the first error is
"this line is not provisioned for use, please use the other line" and after a couple of minutes it changes to "vonage device cannot contact the Vonage network"

What is the best possible solution? Please help.. thanks you so much!!

what's the status of the lights on your Vonage device?usually a msg like that is telling us that your power light is not steady, when it should be.try doing the netwrok reboot again.be sure you power back your devices one at a time:modem then router then Vonage device waiting for each device to boot up completely before powering on the next.

The power light is blinking..=( we've tried to reboot everything one at a time, internet modem first, then wireless, then the Vonage router but we still get the same error.

and no, its a dsl but we need to dial up to be connected to the internet.

Is your computer connected to the wireless or the Vonage adapter? Is it able to get an internet connection?

When you say you need to dialup to get a DSL connection are you just referring to PPPoE authentication or something else?

yes my computer is getting an internet connection by using the wireless router and yeah Im just referring to PPoE authentication.

We reset the Vonage router and disconnected all the power supply of the dsl, wireless and Vonage router and we turn it on one by one.. and now, there is now more error but it doesnt have a dial tone.. oh and by the way, the power light is blinking, internet light is steady but there is no phone light in the Vonage router.

please help..=(

I would like more info on your network

you state dsl <---> wireless - linksys <---> Vonage

what Vonage adaptor and where cords are plugged into on each device and into what port. How and where is computer plugged in? I wonder if the Vonage adaptor is even getting an ip from the linksys device. What model is wireless linksys and is it a even a router?

I am leaning toward linksys device but try to connect Vonage directly to dsl. If it still doesn't work its either bad adaptor or bad dsl.
