I had my number ported from Vonage to Bellsouth few months ago. Few weeks later, we started getting phone calls from random folks. We spoke with one of the callers and he explained that his friend sent out an email with our number as his new contact number. We exchanged info and he later called me back and told us that Vonage assigned him our number.
hmmm... your line must have been assigned to another customer the time that you have successfully transferred your number over to bellsouth... you dont have to worry about that all you have to do is call Vonage they will run some test call if you are sharing lines with other customers... and they will assign another number to that customer. this happens even with other PSTN companies... hope this will help.
