You can askk for the dry loop connection from ur DSL provider.......Dry loop means getting the internet connection alone from ur service provider |

Plug the DSL modem into the existing phoneline and then establish the network setup you prefer into that. Such as the Vonage adapter directly or a router and then the Vonage box.
At that point you have two options
A) Plug a phone into the port into the back of the Vonage box and use that as your primary phone. If you have no need of the other phone jacks in the house, or can make a cordless system work then this is the simplest and safest way to go
B) As I indicated in the other thread, you cannot plug the Vonage box back into the house phone jacks without frying something (most likely the adapter.) If you need to use the other jacks in the house you will need to do some alterations to your wiring.
If you want to go with "B" post back and we can give you some pointers if that's the way you want to proceed. |

You are such a great help thanks so much!! I have one of those cordless phones , it is a motorola expandable cordless phone. will that work? it is one where i plug the base into the phonejack and then it would ring in my bedroom too by just plugging in the powercord. |

Yes just plug the base unit into the back of the Vonage adapter. There are two ports for the phone lines on the back of the Vonage adapter and it's probably provisioned for Line 1.
On a side note, you could still use your metered phone line for backups and power outages. So you may consider using that line as the network unavailable number you can establish in your Vonage account features. |
