Hello Everyone. I have been a vonage employee for a few months now, I am trained in the Local Number Portability(LNP) Dept, also known as the number transfer department so I definately understand the frustrations in transferring/porting numbers. If any one has any questions feel free to email me @ shortie2go@yahoo.ca

I sent you an email about our woes with Vonage LNP. We've been trying with absolutely NO luck since September 25, 2006. The LNP process keeps timing out, restarting, and I spend another 3 hours of my work week on the phone with tech support and nothing ever comes of it.

I'd still like it to work out with vonage, but it's not looking good. We'll probably end up cancelling our "service" and I'll continue telling this story, ha. Vonage had a great idea, but terrible implementation-- with all the negative replies I've seen on this forum...

When I try the availability test for 501-922-xxxx I am told that the number cannot be transferred. However, my neighbor who is recommending me to Vonage (and lives only a couple of miles from me) was able to transfer his 501-915-xxxx. These are essentially the same exchanges. Why is his transferable and mine is not?

They aren't just "essentially" the same exchange, they're the same central office (JSVLARDERS1):
