I am about to make the plunge to Vonage from Telus, but I make extensive use of my calling card number from Telus in order to 3rd party bill long distance calls that I make from my cell. This allows me to use my landline rate plan which is a significant saving from paying the Telus Mobilty long distance rates. I know Vonage does not offer this type of service, but has anyone found a way to accomplish the same type of thing?
I'm not keen on the prepaid calling cards as in most cases I've tried them the minimum charges, or the fact they they expire with credit on them, usually eat up any savings.
Thanks |

You can't use a calling card on Vonage, nor can you use the 10-10 numbers. |

I don't think that's quite what he was referring to.
As I understand, frozinorth has used a calling card while on his cell phone to bill back to his old landline and thus obtain those long distance rates.
Alas, there are no real options (read--simple) to bill back to your Vonage line as was noted.
Truthfully, the first option I do think of are the prepaid calling cards. If there are some good one's out there I'd like to know as well.
I do suppose that one could really have some "fun" (term used loosely) and set up a PBX system to call into from your cell phone and then re-route back out and using the Vonage long distance plan. |

Skype is a good alternative to calling cards. I've been using it for some time now and, I never faced any problems.
It's a Voip, but still works well. And best part all the help I need is available on this website. |

Where are you calling long distance to?
Since you can make unlimited phone calls anywhere in North America on your Vonage line with the unlimited plan you can call your Vonage number get transferred to the number you want and all you are charged on your cell phone is what it costs for the local call. |

This is kind of what our software product DialBridge does. |

Ive been using a company called WQN for a few years now, to call other countries. The quality is great which i didn't find from previous companys. It is also a pretty competitive company, they have very good intensives just from joining, like free minutes every 6 months. |

Well, international virtual calling card is one great alternative if you constantly travel because it can be reloaded with minutes online. |
