Hi all, I installed my Vonage VWR about a week ago and since then every phone call i try and make or is made to it has around a 10 second delay making it impossible to use. If you are on the phone ringing 'IN' to the Vonage phone the sound seems to waver in and out. Everything else is working fine (internet, wireless). I cant find any reference to this kind of problem in the troubleshooting and i have tried powering down/up several times. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Doug |

The nearest thing in the troubleshooting section to what you're experiencing might be the item on Troubleshooting Choppy / One-way / Dropped Audio. It recommends using the bandwidth saving feature.
We've tried that on all our Vonage lines and it hasn't made any difference. The delays we experience are nearer to 2 seconds than the 10 seconds you get, but still make the lines quite unusable for anything serious. We've stopped using Vonage for calls. The only reason we haven't stopped the service completely is that we've already advised people of the new numbers and we don't want to advise them of yet another change.
As you'll see from other posts, customer support are quite unhelpful. However, as this forum is not flooded with people complaining about the service, it must be pleasing some people! |

hmm, thats interesting, we've been using Vonage with 2 lines for about 8 months now, and never seem to have Any problems with it at all. we get no delay at all, both lines work well, with no reduced call quality at all.. to be fair we do get 24Meg broadband wth unlimited upload/download restrictions, but even so, we've found these lines to be incredably good value for money. i've had to call the customer support before and believe me, there are soo many more companies especially the phone industries that have worse customer service! It took me a little whiel to get through but only about average when I did they were incredably helpful!
