Current setup is:
cable>vonage>linksysrouter

before i had it opposite and everything worked fine, but then were having bad quality on the phone so had to switch it....

Anyway, heres the story: im running a server at port 8004 and some other things broadcasting around 8005/6/7 etc. now, when i goto my external ip address plus the port :8004 its not working. when i go through my routers adddress 192.168.1.1XX:8004 it works fine. When i go through the Vonage router : 192.168.15.2:8004 works fine.

I noticed that when i use the external IP its routing to the 192.168.15.1 address and not the 192.168.15.2, and im 100% stumped on what to do.

What Vonage adapter are you using? Have you forwarded the ports needed for your applications in both routers? If your server is plugged into the Linksys you might just want to put the Linksys in the DMZ of the Vonage router so you don't have to worry about changing the ports in both routers. If you are using the VT2142 or the VT2442 then it seems accessing your public IP from inside your network does not work, it just takes you to the routers admin interface. If you access your public IP address from outside your network however, it will work properly, seems to be a bug in the router side of that device.

Yea i have all the ports forwarded correctly. DMZ not required. Anyway, im not sure which Vonage I have but, it is doing that, when i goto the external ip it just goes to the routers admin interface.

So like this>

externalip:8004 doesntwork
internalip/localips:8004 (192.168.15.2/192.168.1.105) works

You most likely have one or the Motorola's(2142/2442) as mine does the same thing. Its a flaw in the design and unfortunately there is no way to get around it. It will work fine for access from outside your network though.
