Is anyone on these boards associated with Vonage in any way?

The titles appear to be linked to the number of posts rather than the person's qualifications, reader feedback, or any association with Vonage.

This is an independent forum not run or endorsed by Vonage. Some people on here may be associated with Vonage but if they are, they are not posting here in any official capacity on behalf of Vonage. This site is for Vonage users to help other Vonage users resolve problems or talk about the Vonage service.

Then why is everyone called a Vonage Forum "Associate" after they post a certain number of times?

This seems misleading, I think it makes it difficult to tell who is qualified to answer a given question. Why not identify people associated with Vonage as associates, and the rest as users?

A members title only has to do with the number of posts that a person makes. This is a common way for forum sites like this to note new versus senior members.

The title starts with "Vonage Forum" because that is what this site is called and then the remaining title has to do with how many posts you have made.

As the banner on almost each page says:

"This Site is exclusively owned & operated by 4Sight Media LLC & is no way endorsed, sponsored, provided, owned or otherwise controlled by Vonage. For official information on Vonage Services please proceed to the Vonage website at: www.vonage.com"

P.S. NavyDavy is grossly unqualified... Smile Smile

Considering the number of complaints that we get about Vonage support, that might not be very informative either. I hasten to add that when I have been able to identify someone as a Vonage employee, he/she is usually very good.

The best way to determine who is qualified to help is to read for a bit. It becomes obvious pretty quickly. Granted that a new user who is just here for help on one problem may be frustrated by that necessity.

It has been explained already that this site, much like most all other community sites, uses a ranking and star system based on the total number of posts.

Here is our system of ranking:

Rank Title, Minimum Posts

New Forum Member, 1
Vonage Forum Associate, 10
Vonage Forum Junior, 25
Full Forum Member, 40
Vonage Forum Senior, 75
Vonage Forum Master, 150
Vonage Forum Evangelist, 300
Vonage Forum MVM, 1000

Special Ranks:

Site Admin
Member of the Week
Moderator
Vonage Engineer
Vonage Representative

Vonage Engineer and Vonage Representative were how we identified Vonage employees prior to the Vonage IPO. Once the IPO was announced, we stoped identifying Vonage employees on this site.

We also have the un-official Vonage Cheerleader, but trust me; you do not want to see her.
