just in case your starcom is very new, you should charge the battery 10-12 hours when you first receive it.
and you will know it needs charging when low-battery message is displayed: PLACE IN CHARGER...

by the way, phone automatically charges when handset is in its charger Wink

Are you trying to register to your own access point or to someone else's? If to someone else's - does the access point have any security implemented (you would see a lock next to the SSID if you press Search on the phone).

Hi, yes I tried with mine, as well as several open wi-fi (unprotected) around, and evertime it connects, I get a "No service try another AP" message. The way I proceed is the following: I just select the AP after a "search", then "save", then select "open AP", then "Activate". I didn't succeed to register the wi-fi phone and so its not updated yet.

It seems that the phone is connecting OK to access points, but it is not finding Vonage - probably because it is missing its configuration from Vonage for some reason.

On the phone itself, go to Menu -> Misc -> Factory Reset

When the phone asks for your password just hit OK (null password). If the phone never found a Vonage Configuration server, that should get it there.

If the phone did find a Vonage configuration server at some point, when the phone asks for the password, enter utvonpw from the keypad and hot OK. That should clear everything and have the phone try to pull the config again from Vonage.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your comments.
I did factory reset the phone and guess what it did connect and register. I did try to reset the phone previously but on the forum (another thread) the user wrote down, the password is "NULL" so I type it and of course it failed Rolling Eyes
I will go back around tomorrow and will try to connect to a few AP's to see !
In the meanwhile, I did some trials at home, people can't hear me while I can perfectly understand what they are saying. I must agree Im living in a student hall, we have a very good internet connexion provided as far as downloading is concerned. Our upload is pure rubbish and this may explain why they can t just understand what Im saying. The IT guy from our Hall also told me that our network doesn t support packet priority for UDP I supposed. This might make it even worse !
Stay tuned and thanks a lot Wink
(had to try those smilies)
