Post subject: RT31P2 QOS Setting
Should the voice QOS setting on the RT31P2 under applications and gaming be enabled or disabled? Currently it is disabled and I am having problems with choppy audio when my son uploads to the internet. If I enable it what should I set the rate for? My upload bandwidth is 768kbs.
I have my SB5120 cable modem > RT31P2>WRT54GL
Thanks

Enable QOS, that should help allot with the choppiness. Try and set the rate to 768kbps. If that does not work try 600kbps. I have Comcast in Chicago and 600kbps seems work better for me.

I agree MarleyX that it is a bit of trial and error. even
Vonage
does not know what the proper setting should be. I remember when they first started out they were altering these back and forth between settings. Mine is set at 512 kb/s.
hope this help.
