Post subject: Voip and Verizon FIOS can I still use the house wiring?
Hi I just got
Vonage
VOIP
. I set it up to use my house wiring so that I can access
Vonage
through any phone jack. I am thinking of switching my Cable service to Verizon Fios and wanted to know if I could still use the wiring in the house for
VOIP
or would that ruin it?

Fios doesn't use your existing home phone wiring, so it should be no problem.

Post subject: disconnect wiring
one thing you will want to do is make sure to ask the Verizon installer to leave your premise telephone wiring disconnected. Fios still does have a POTS interface in their ONT:
The wiring is generally connected to the 4 bottom right IDC flip tabs. Just verify that your phone line is not connected to any of those, and you should be all set. If the existing telephone wiring is spliced, of course you'll want to keep that maintained, but disconnected from any Verizon interface.
