I switched to Vonage from Verizon last April and at the time was really worried that I would run into problems. I started the wrong way...I signed up and jumped in with both feet by porting my number to Vonage right away. I wanted to take advantage of the low rates and not add to my monthly phone bill by running parallel services. In retrospect it worked out for me, but it could have been a disaster.
If I were to do this all over again I would get Vonage and keep my existing line for 60 to 90 days. This wa I would have a land line to fall back to in the event the Vonage line had issues. I did have to spend a few minutes on the phone with tech services when I first got it all running, but they were generally short -- 20 minutes or less -- usually a lot less -- and solved my problems.
I read lots on this site when I first joined and haven't been back in a while, so I thought I would stop by, read a little, tell people I'm happy with my Vonage Service, and just wish everyone a Happy, Healthy and very Prosperous New Year! |
