I took Motorola VT2142 Vonage router to India. It is not working with DSL internet connection in India.
1. I connected the Motorola VT2142 to DSL modem and connected the computer to Motorola VT2142. Then, I connected a phone to VT2142. After power cycling router and computer, I could not access the internet or use the phone.
2. The DSL service provider in India is Airtel with at least 256kbps connection speed. The connection is PPPoE with dynamic IP address.
Please explain step by step how to make the Vonage phone adapter work with this setup.
if you need to enter a username or password to go online, then you need to set your vt2142 settings to PPPoE.
you can access the device setting's page by opening a web browser like internet explorer, then in the address bar, type 192.168.15.1. press enter. it will load up the settings page and it will ask for a username and password, so please use "router" for both. then once in, click on setup->wan configuration->change the internet setting from dhcp to pppoe. the page will refresh, then in the input boxes, enter the username and password that you use for your dsl.
