I got another PAP2 today to support a new line I wanted in my office. Set it up and runs fine, on a new account. Now, the regular house phone doesn't work, which also uses a PAP2 to run. Phone 1 slot isn't lighting up. Ran the Voip test and it said 4 max can be run on my connection.
Is it something with the router thats blocking the old one? Did Vonage see that I got another account and turn the old one off automatically?
Thanks in advance! |

first reboot your device, just the pap2, wait a few minutes to see what happens. if that doesn't work reboot your whole network. |

what is your network setup:
for example: cable modem/dsl modem >> router >> Ethernet 1 to pap2 >> Ethernet 2 to Pap2
Please provide info on network setup if you're still having problems |

The answer to both of these should be no. On the account issue, you should be able to check on the web site and see that both accounts are active, and the active device on each one. |

Both accounts are active. And the network setup is like this: cable modem > router > port 4 > old PAP2 and port 7 > new PAP2
I am going to try and reboot the router and modem now. |

Okay so now resetting the house router made the house phone work but now the new office PAP2 doesn't. No dial tone or anything, but the old one works just fine.
I tried lowering the sound quality on each account to the medium setting because I was thinking that there was too much upload traffic, but then thought that wouldn't affect whether the phone #1 light wasn't lit.
Any other recommendations? |

I hate to say it, but this sounds like a problem for Vonage technical support. Try the 888 250 1799 number. |

I am on hold with them right now, got disconnected once before. I was told on Broadbandreports.com that they need to change SIP ports so they're different and India doesn't understand. |

While you're waiting, you might want to log onto your router and see if both PAP2s are being assigned an IP. I assume you're using DHCP throughout? Have you changed any of the defaults on the PAP2s? Have you done any static IP assignments? Are you using MAC cloning anywhere? |
