Hi. I recently transferred to Vonage from Bell Canada. The service works fine, but the router I got (a Motorola VT2442) has in the first week of my service, dropped its connection to my ISP twice. Resetting the VT2442 brings everything back online, but it's annoying.
I have another Vonage router (a Linksys RTP300) from my first attempt at transferring my phone service from Sprint/Rogers (what a nightmare: after 4 months, the LNP still wasn't done). Anyway, I'd like to use the Linksys in place of the Motorola. I can configure the IP stuff, but what as to be done so that Vonage will associate my phone number with the Linksys?

Which router is better? I was told by the Vonage rep that the Motorola was the best.
My linksys wireless keeps losing its connection, but my phone still works and the Vonage adapter is after the linksys router. |

I ended up sticking with the motorola. The linksys was very clunky and I couldn't get port forwarding working for some reason on it. The Motorola worked fine, once I cut down on my bittorrent traffic. |

I was using a PAP2, worked okay but when power was out, and resumed, I had to reboot everything from cable modem, to router, to PAP2. With the Motorola vt2442, it just recovers the 2 Vonage lines with no further worry. It's very reliable.
