Will Vonage work with the Linksys PAP2-BP device? |

You must use a Vonage branded device to connect to the Vonage network.
It will not work unless it says Vonage on it.

Thank you for the reply.
This is similar to the reply I got from technical support, but it doesn't seem to answer my question. The device is a Linksys PAP2-BP. I would like to know, will it or will it not work with Vonage?
According to the seller, the packaging says Vonage, however the device itself does not have the Vonage logo on it.
Could you answer this question yes or no? I don't care about the logo, I simply want to know if this make and model will work with Vonage, assuming that it is, in fact, a Linksys PAP2-BP. |

I am not familiar with the PAP2-BP specifically.
Essentially if the adapter came with a Vonage welcome kit it will work since it is already provisioned by Vonage. If not there is no way to make it work.
If the device has been previously registered to a Vonage account you will not be able to sign up through the web site and will need to contact Vonage to create an account.
If it is a new, in box device you should try the retail activation (assuming it was originally distributed via retail) on the Vonage.com website.
What it comes down to is if the device was distributed by Vonage with a Vonage welcome kit it can/will work. Otherwise it will not. I am not certain if the Vonage PAP2 has the Vonage logo on it but I presume it does.

Edit: Upon further research it appears the PAP2-BP does work with Vonage if it was specifically provisioned. If it came with a Vonage welcome kit it should definately work.

Thanks for the reply,
I still don't fully understand,
Are you saying that it's not just a question of the make and model, but that there could be differences among specific devices of the same make and model? Or are you saying that since you aren't familiar with the model, the Vonage welcome package is the best indicator of whether it would work?
In other words: If any PAP2-BP device works with Vonage, does that mean that all PAP2-BP devices will work with Vonage, and vice-versa (if any doesn't, none will)? |

Yes,
I believe that all PAP2-BP's should work with Vonage but I am not certain.
The best indicator is if the device came with a Vonage welcome kit, in that case it will definately work. Conversely if it didn't it will not work.
