Hmmm

I don't think I'd have ever hit that troubleshooting step. Of course next time I post, "Do you actually have Internet? in response to someone's query, I'm sure they'll be some rolled eyes my direction.

Nevertheless, I chuckled when I read you found your solution. I do believe Bell offers dry DSL, if you wanted out of the landline.

Anyway, sorry we weren't of any help, but glad you found the solution.

And Wink

Glad you found it so humorous. Yes, it doesn't pay to skip the simple stuff. Perhaps you have a simplier comprehension level.

May I point out

A) "...during the transition week of disconnecting my Bell Canada landline." Landline!!! Disconnecting the landline does not completely equate disconnecting Bell Canada Internet. While they are very often bundled they are not dependant to each other.

B) "Now since I was informed the disconnect with Bell was complete, I have not been able to use the internet." Simple enough

C) "I have connected to the Motorola site for the Vonage router offline and it informs me I am connected to the internet. Obviously as I can use one phone to call customer support." This is after Bell Canada landline (as quoted) is disconnected but infers that the Vonage is working.

D) "I notice when not using the phone, the internet is light on the Vonage router, but again I cannot connect to the web. I do notice thats when I make a phone connection that light goes off." Perhaps my mistake, but as I was seeking clarification during this thread, I was interpreting this as the phone was working but Internet as well.

Also, it is noted early in the thread that we questioned Internet provider. Since you must have Internet for Vonage service, and it appeared he did have Vonage service, I didn't connect those dots as to not having any Internet service.

Glad you are so smart and knew it immediately. The rest of us were just trying to lend a hand

WOW aren't we scholarly.

with all your book learnin and stuff. I bet you're proud of the way you were able to decipher all of the information in such an organized manner. you must have gone to school or something to be so learned.

congratulations for passing english 101. Now we can all have a tea party and eat some scones.

it was funny...... how can someone not know that they do not have internet access, seems rather illogical. But i'm sure you would have known that you didn't have internet, being so scholarly.

And just FYI it just reminded me of a silly call i recieved when i was working for ATT wireless level 3 tech support. I dont know how this call got through to me but she wanted to know why her phone wouldnt ring. First question "is the phone on ?" a: "No" Me: "could you turn the phone on for me." A:"OK" (place test call - phone rings) - "Yeah it rings when the phone is on - but when the phone is off nothing" - hahaha yes its funny - to some ignorance may be bliss but to others its just stupidity

irreality,

My apologies for my post. There are a few statements I would have been better off leaving out.

My beef was with the way you posted with your haahaaahaaahaaa's and how it was so obvious to you what was wrong. I intended my reply to merely show how it wasn't so obvious to some of the rest of us, and how I, in particular, didn't see it as obvious.

Yes it was funny, although probably not to the OP. So seemingly simplistic that no one had previously tried to troubleshoot that problem and proceeded to what 99+% of the troubleshooting cases normally revolve around.

If it truly just did remind you of a silly call, then great. To me, you came across in a mocking fashion in your post, and I let it get to me.

Again my apologies and hope you feel free to continue to chip in around the forums.
