I have had several people complain that when they try to leave me a voicemail message, they get a "time is running out" warning after about 10 seconds, and it disconnects shortly after that. The messages that I have received from the callers sound just like that's what happened: I get a few seconds of a message, followed by "What the ****" (or something to that extent), followed by nothing. I have tried calling my voicemail and leaving a message, but it works fine for me every time. Is anyone else having problems with voicemail??? |

Yes, I have had a number of customers (we are a commercial Vonage account) indicate they had problems and, of course, we hear people muttering under their breath as they hang up. I have now opened two problem tickets on this issue in the last 20 days. Vonage has never replied to me in a pro-active fashion about them solving the problem.
Guess I am going to have to give them a call. It would take less than two lost sales a month and I would be $$ ahead switching back to SBC. I am OK with a few problems now and then with new technology of this type but I have ZERO patience for the poor customer service I have received.

Vonage has finally acknowledged that there are some "issues" with voicemail occasionally. They have requested for me to notify them when a caller experiences the problem with voicemail being cut off after about 10 seconds (some people complain that the outgoing message is garbled as well). If anyone else is having problems with voicemail, PLEASE contact Vonage and get a trouble ticket opened. The more information they have, the more likely they will be to get if fixed. |

This is one thing I can say we've never had a problem with. My kids' friends can leave huge novels on the phone -- which of course then download into my computer when I'm traveling and getting email via dialup at 56K.
The only voicemail oddity I had was my personal greeting number 2 kept getting eaten. It was the one I used when I transferred my office line to the house and when I'd go to activate it, it would just be gone. That happened about four times and then suddenly stopped. Other than that, our voicemail has been rock solid and no complaints on quality of outgoing message that we know of. |
